Installing R and RStudio

On this page, you will find links for downloading R and RStudio.

Installing R

To install R, head over to CRAN.

You should see options for installing R based on your operating system.

Installing RStudio

To install RStudio, head over to RStudio.

Under Products, select RStudio, then RStudio Desktop. You should be able to download RStudio for free and install it.

Getting started

Working with R will be quite different than working with a tool like Excel since you will be coding rather than the more interactive (point-and-click) type of work you would do in Excel. To prepare for this, I’d recommend getting familiar with some basics about working in R Studio.
